The children selected for Children’s Haven of Hope been identified from a very deprived area in Central India. Most of the population lives in poverty conditions, are illiterate, and health facilities are very limited, essentially, they are isolated from the rest of the country. The situation in these backward villages is devastating and the impact it has on these physically challenged children is profound. They are often ignored by their family and outcast from the rest of the village people. Most often, the family has little regard for their education and well-being, and should they become ill, they are not attended to and often die. Haven of Hope will now become their “new” and safe home.
